Visionary

Visionary Posted by Picasa

Our eyes are capable of seeing many things in life.
What is common and familiar,
or what is rare and extraordinary.

Dare to Risk

Dare to Risk Posted by Picasa
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in live is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.
Chained by their attitudes, they are slaves; they have forteited their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.

Do the Thing You Fear

Do the Thing You Fear Posted by Picasa

Seldom do we do the thing we fear,
so we seldom discover whether or not our projection
of disaster was accurate or not.

In fact, when we DON'T do the thing we are afraid of, we breathe a sigh of relief as though it actually would have taken place. "That was a close one!" we say, even though we never actually got close to anything but a string of our own negative thoughts...

Emily the Artist

From Emily Dec 2004 Posted by Hello
Emily made this card for my birthday last year. I love children's art, and some day want to bring the children and the elderly together through creativity. The children are starving for the attention, and the elderly still have so much to contribute. Some day...

A Raven Friend

Raven Friend Posted by Hello
This little raven friend appeared on the hotel balcony the morning of my daughter's wedding. He was so friendly, and was chattering away all morning as if he was caught up in the excitement himself...

Be Still and Know that You're Not God

Be Still and know that you're not God. Posted by Hello
I was in the garden one day, feeling out of control of my life, and I looked down and saw this little vignette. It's a twist on scripture, but the words "Be still and know that you're not God" flashed in my mind. I snapped a picture and made greeting cards out of this so I would never forget that moment. I still use these words to calm my spirit.

Playing in Fresno

Playing in Fresno Posted by Hello
I loved playing with this photo I snapped in Fresno a few years ago. It's as if the statue were alive and touching the building for balance. The original photo is below. I've always said that Some day I'm going to publish photos, so I figured I'd start by publishing on a blog.

Good 'ol Michael Roy... my friend who finally went over the edge. Damn Vietnam got the best of 'em. I want my old friend back! I snapped this shot at his cabin and made him notecards. He loved them. I think I'll make a rubber stamp out of this. What do you see when you look at this picture?
